For the choir’s Christmas performances (about which more shortly) one of the featured works is Poverty Carol, a traditional Welsh carol arranged for four parts by Lee Dengler. In the original Welsh the carol is entitled “O deued pob Cristion“. The English words by Katharine E. Roberts and W.T. Pennar Davies are an adaptation rather than a literal translation.
Anyway, whatever the lineage, the result is beautiful, in my opinion. The best recording I have heard is the one on the composer’s Web page.
