One of the benefits of being the de facto Chief Internet Gnome (soon to be Emeritus) for Capital Choir is that I get to post whatever I like.
My singing teacher, Roger Wilson was recently interviewed on National Radio: Roger Wilson: celebrating 50 years in the New Zealand opera scene. Roger has made a career out of being a second-rate (his words) professional opera singer in New Zealand to the extent that he’s never had to have a real job (also his words). I have nothing but admiration for all the incredibly skilled musicians who labour in precarious, part-time and unpaid jobs to make music, and also to help us much-less-skilled musicians to make music too.
Have a listen.
