Capital Choir’s May concert, A Grand Night for Singing, will be held at 7:30 pm on Tuesday 29 May at Central Baptist Church, Boulcott St. It will include songs from musicals including Fiddler on the Roof, Grease, Anything Goes, Godspell and others. The director will be Mark Dorrell and the accompanist will be Belinda Behle. Admission is $20, with students $10 and under-12s free.
The choir will be performing tomorrow (Saturday 12 May) at Fergusson Care Home,
The concert will start at 2:30 pm and run for an hour or less. Choir members should gather at 2 pm. Dress: comfortable, cheerful and lnot too warm.
As most choir members should know, there will be an extra rehearsal tomorrow morning, Saturday 14 April. Here, via Susan Hamilton, are the details:
The choir has been hard at work for the last month under the direction of Mark Dorrell on a repertoire of show tunes, notably Fiddler on the Roof. We will get a chance to try them out at a couple of performances:
- A concert for the residents at Fergusson Care Home, 654 Fergusson Drive, Upper Hutt, Saturday 12 May at 2.30 pm.
- A public concert at Central Baptist Church, 46–48 Boulcott Street, Tuesday 29 May, 7.30pm. The programme and publicity material will be finalised before the concert. The dress rehearsal will be at our usual rehearsal time on the previous Tuesday, 22 May.
